bgcc7

Rulebook

BGCC7 is the seventh Bulgarian Community Cup, a 2v2 team tournament open to players of any rank from Bulgaria. The top 32 players by BWS are drawn into 16 random pairs, those teams play a double elimination bracket, and we stream every match with Bulgarian commentary.

General information

  • BGCC7 is a 2v2, open rank tournament for players with Bulgaria as their osu! country
  • Everyone signs up solo. Teams of two are drawn at random, so there's no team to register
  • All matches use Team VS and ScoreV2
  • All times are in EET / EEST (UTC+2 / UTC+3)
  • Matches are played between Friday 18:00 and Sunday 21:00 of their week
  • Captains agree on a time on the scheduling page before Wednesday 23:59 of that week. One proposes, the other accepts or counters, and the bot DMs you on Discord, so link it on your page
  • Streamers, commentators and designers can also play. Referees and playtesters can only help out once they're knocked out, and every other staff role can't play at all

Registration and screening

  • Registrations run from 16 Aug to 5 Sept, 23:59 EEST
  • Sign up by logging in with osu! on the registration page. That's the whole form
  • Every player is screened by the osu! account support team before the draw. We only turn someone away if they fail that screening or break a sign-up rule, and we'll tell you if it happens
  • Teams are announced right after the draw

Seeding and teams

  • Everyone is ranked by BWS: your global rank to the power of 0.9937^(badges²). Only osu! standard tournament badges count
  • The top 32 players make it in. Ranks are taken when signups close
  • Places 1 to 16 are tier A and 17 to 32 are tier B. Every tier A player is drawn with a random tier B player
  • A team's seed comes from the average BWS seed of its two players (BWS #3 and #20 average 11.5), lowest is seed 1. The bracket starts 1 v 16, 8 v 9 and so on
  • Nobody's seed is ever changed by hand. The seeding code is public, so anyone can check the result

Match procedure

  • Every match runs on the site. The referee opens the lobby and runs the match from the match page, captains pick and ban in the draft on that same page, and the scores are read straight from the osu! lobby
  • In the draft, the captain whose turn it is clicks a map in the pool to ban or pick it. The page shows whose turn it is and the time left, and every pick and ban appears live for both teams, the referee and the stream
  • Captains !roll at the start of the match. The higher roll chooses whether their team picks or bans first, and the other team gets the remaining choice
  • Picks and bans have a 90 second timer that is set automatically. A missed ban or pick passes to the other team
  • Double picks and double bans aren't allowed. Each team gets one timeout of up to 2 minutes per match, called between maps
